A product of Los Angeles’ ever-buoyant DIY scene, Girlpool make music which sounds as though it truly comes from within.
Lacking direct reference points – Beat Happening, Sleater-Kinney are perhaps antecedents – the duo’s new EP is a fascinating, truly unique introduction.
Directed by Cory McConnell, new short film ‘Things Are OK’ features raw live footage from recent shows at Death By Audio and Glasslands. The director himself labels it “a portrait of a band at a unique moment in time, discussing their friendship and creative process”.
