Performing an emotional 'Everlong'

David Letterman retired last night (May 20th) following the final episode of The Late Show.

Paying his respects to the audience, the genial host invited Foo Fighters to play 'Everlong' as the final credits rolled – revealing a montage of some of the broadcaster's greatest hits.

An emotional moment, it obviously resonated with Letterman who famously invited his favourite band (Foo Fighters) to play his favourite song ('Everlong') following his return from a heart bypass operation in 2000.
