Watch: Douglas Hart Reflects On His Career

As part of East End Live...

One time Jesus & Mary Chain bass player turned film maker Douglas Hart reflects on his career in a new video made in conjunction with East End Live Festival.

London's East End has always been in a state of flux. Historically one of the city's poorest regions, it has acted as a hub for successive waves of immigration for over 150 years.

Giving the area a unique character, the East End is now a thriving creative zone. Celebrating this, the East End Live festival is set to take control of several venues on July 13th, showcasing a raft of new music, film, visual arts and more.

TOY, Wet Nuns and Teeth of the Sea were amongst the first batch of announcements, before The Monochrome Set joined the bill. Now ClashMusic are able to announce a special pre-party. One time Jesus & Mary Chain bass player turned film maker Douglas Hart is set to host a one off event at Shoreditch drinking hole The Griffin on June 5th.

DJs all evening, you can expect a raft of different sounds all pressed on seven inch vinyl. Currently preparing for the release of debut solo single 'X Film Plus Ultra' and the semi-autobiographical film 'Long Distance Information'.

To coincide with this, Douglas Hart sat down for a short filmed interview with the East End Live team, which you can watch below.

As if that wasn't enough… ClashMusic are also able to announce another batch of artists for East End Live. New names include Neil's Children, Weird Menace, Good Throb and the Edwyn Collins endorsed Filthy Boy.
