Watch: Disappears – Replicate

Shuddering, bass heavy post-punk

Disappears have unveiled the video for their unrelenting, post-punk infused track ‘Replicate’.

Hailing from Chicago’s ever buoyant music scene, Disappears are at once familiar and unknown. The band’s drummer Steve Shelley is feted for his involvement with Sonic Youth, but this project has its own, distinct identity.

New album ‘Pre Language’ is a case in point. An unrelenting effort which could fall in line with post-punk’s legacy, the record finds Disappears surging forward.

Recorded in Hoboken New Jersey at Sonic Youth’s Echo Canyon West studio and mixed with John Congleton, ‘Pre Language’ is a focussed, concise demonstration of what Disappears can achieve.

Given the video treatment by Jonathan van Herik and Chris Wilkus, you can watch the clip for ‘Replicate’ below.
