Watch: Derek Jacobi Voices Keaton Henson’s ‘You’

Beautiful new clip emerges...

Derek Jacobi appears in a new clip based on Keaton Henson's 'You'.

Well here's something…

A song is – in essence – a performance, a short showcase for drama. So perhaps it's natural for an actor to step in, to take a lyric sheet and transpose it into a monologue.

Keaton Henson's 'You' is one of the standout tracks on 'Birthdays' a song which is all emotive of arrangement and tender of vocal.

Part of Channel 4's Random Acts series, Derek Jacobi has stepped in to voice those lyrics in a moving new clip. Taking the role of an ageing writer addressing a lover, Jacobi's monologue is interspersed with footage of birth, death and all that comes in between.

Shattering stuff, you can watch it below.
