CMAT stole the show on Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenanny with her epic take on ‘Without You’.
The Irish singer has had another epic year – work on the follow-up to her 2023 album ‘Crazymad, For Me’ is ongoing, but between her viral BRITs moment and last year’s killer ear-worm ‘Aw, Shoot!’ 2024 was replete with gems.
Seeing out the year in style, CMAT popped up on Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenanny, backed by a full orchestra.
Opting for something a little different, CMAT decided to belt out ‘Without You’ – and pretty much brought the house down.
It’s a bold choice of song. Initially recorded by Badfinger, it was made globally famous by Harry Nillson, and of course Mariah Carey. So, no pressure then!
Twisting ‘Without You’ in a country-pop direction, CMAT leaves it all out there onstage. The ultimate power ballad? Perhaps.
“I had the best time of my whole entire life last night,” she wrote on social media. “I would sing with your orchestra every day if I could…”
