Watch: Bob Dylan Appears On Letterman

Becoming the show's final guest...

Well, that's that.

David Letterman introduced his final musical guest on the Late Show last night (May 19th) following weeks of speculation.

In the end, the genial host used an anecdote from playing with his son to reveal the songwriter's identity.

Speaking to the crowd, David Letterman revealed he told his son that there were two truths in life: always be nice to people, and that Bob Dylan was the greatest songwriter of modern times.

Somewhat ironically, Dylan then played a cover – albeit an appropriate one. 'The Night We Called It A Day' is taken from the singer's Sinatra-themed standards album 'Shadows In The Night'.
