The entertainment world was left shocked, with the LA Lakers icon building close friends among his peers and contemporaries.
More than 20,000 people assembled at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for A Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant, which features some emotional performances.

Meanwhile Alicia Keys performed 'Moonlight Sonata', a piece Kobe Bryant taught himself to play by ear in a romantic gesture towards his wife.
