Watch: Benga In The Studio

As work progresses on new album

Benga has allowed a camera crew to join him in the studio as he commences work on his second album.

Benga has come a long way. As teenagers, the young producer would hook up with Skream and head down to the Big Apple record store to soak up the sounds. Impressed with some of the older talents that hung around the shop, the pair were offered a few tricks and tips by those in the know.

Fast forward almost ten years and Benga has taken his music into the charts. One third of Magnetic Man, the beatsmith was also responsible for the production on Katy B’s breakthrough track ‘Katy On A Mission’.

Now focussing on his own career, Benga recently decided to return to the studio. The producer released debut LP ‘Diary Of An Afro Warrior’ back in 2008, one of the standout albums of the dubstep era.

Work is progressing, with Benga recently allowing a camera crew to follow him into the studio in the first episode of Season 2 of online series The Producers. Chatting about recent tracks and reflecting on his own career, the producer appears to be in a typically buoyant mood.
