Allo Darlin’ are offering fan a quick preview of their forthcoming second album ‘Europe’.
Allo Darlin’ began almost by accident. Singer Elizabeth Morris roped in some friends for a one off show, which became a single which – at the behest of their rapidly growing fan base – became an album.
Since Fortuna POP! stepped in to release their debut LP Allo Darlin’ have completed several UK tours, travelled to the United States and embarked on an ambitious five week European jaunt.
Finding time to complete their second album, Allo Darlin’ are set to release ‘Europe’ in May. Patching together footage of their recent tour, the band are streaming a clip which contains traces of their upcoming second album.

Meanwhile, Allo Darlin’ have also confirmed plans for a new single and a UK tour. The London group will release ‘Capricornia’ on February 13th, with the single available on seven inch vinyl and as a digital download.
Elizabeth Morris explains the meaning behind the title: “Capricornia is the area in Queensland that I’m from. It has imaginary state lines, roughly around the Tropic of Capricorn, which runs directly through my hometown. There’s a nice 70s monument that marks the spot where the line passes, out on a lonely dirt road where all the kids learn how to drive. My family have lived in this area for over 6 generations but none of my generation remain. It’s a beautiful place.”
“Musically, when we first discussed the album with our producer, I suggested that the feel of Europe should be somewhere between A New England by Kirsty Macoll and Cattle and Cane by The Go-Betweens. I think this song is the closest to that.”
