Voodoo Bloo Unleash New Album ‘The Blessed Ghost’

Tune in now...

New Zealand indie rock outfit Voodoo Bloo have shared new album ‘The Blessed Ghost’ in full.

Out now, it’s a potent document, one that presents their vision in full widescreen. The new album follows a string of singles, and it opens with that punchy, riotous title cut.

Spearheaded by Sheffield-born Rory McDonald, the band’s internal chemistry pushes them to fresh heights. Lyrically, he often uses fiction, setting up narratives and allowing them to go down unexpected paths. Deep down, however, it’s all a reflection of himself, his own emotions, and his own life.

Frontman Rory McDonald explains: “As the writing progressed I realised something quite odd. This fictional person was just everything that I did not like about myself, in all ways shapes and forms I’d started to write about my own demons and they were glaring at me, and that’s when I finally figured out what The Blessed Ghost was…”
