Clash speaks to a lot of small labels on a daily basis, and one message rings true: the main drawback for vinyl pressings is the cost.
For small independent ventures, finding the cash up-front for pressing and releasing vinyl – even in small amounts – can be seriously prohibitive.
New venture Vinylised, though, aims to change that. It's essentially a crowd-funding project, aiming to take the pressure off small labels and spread the initial investment over a wider area.
The feedback has been great, too. Plastician – always an early adopter – is using it to press the latest Terrorhythm release, and there could be more to come.

So, is this a game-changer? It could be argued that labels already have crowd-funding means at their disposal, but bringing all this into one place should certainly make the process more efficient.
Equally, Clash has to applaud anyone helping to promote both vinyl as a format, and independent labels as a focal point for new music.
