Veera Lummi has shared her brand new track ‘Until The Calmness’.
An intricate offering from the Finnish singer-songwriter, Lummi is venturing into the world of experimental pop. Tracing a balance between tense, orchestral strings and free-flowing vocals, the track first came into fruition amongst the sulphur springs near Rome. Written, produced and performed by Veera herself, the track’s scattered drums and flecks of electronic textures elevate the listener’s experience into something truly unique and transcendent.
‘Until The Calmness’ arrives as the opening track of latest EP ‘Liminal’, a collection of tracks that define Lummi’s sound from start to finish. Based in London, the artist has developed her skills in composing for television and film, offering her a fresh perspective on her own music. Hinting towards the qualities of Björk, James Blake, Holly Walker and Sampha, ‘Liminal’ illustrates growth and marks the next steps for Lummi.
Speaking on the track, Veera Lummi expands: “It’s about surrendering to the unknown,” she continues, “being with the discomfort and trusting that it will flush through.”
