Vancouver Honors AC/DC

Canadian City Declares 'AC/DC Day'

Canadian city Vancouver has announced that it will honor Australian hard rock veterans AC/DC by declaring November 28th to be ‘AC/DC Day’ in the city.

The legendary group recently recorded their new album ‘Black Ice’ in the city’s historic Warehouse Studios. Unusually, the building previously housed Vancouver’s first city hall.

AC/DC are scheduled to play a gig in Vancouver on November 28th, though it has not been confirmed if the band will be present at the official proclamation. A local radio station has been behind the campaign to have the date named in honor of the group, and have reportedly been pressuring Vancouver mayor Sam Sullivan for over two years.

AC/DC remain at the top of the US Billboard charts with new album ‘Black Ice’ selling 271,000 copies in its first week.
