Legendary songwriter Van Morrison will kick off this year’s SXSW in Austin, Texas it has been revealed.
The singer, perhaps best known for perennial wedding favourite “Brown Eyed Girl”, will open the showcase event at La Zona Rosa on March 12th. Having recorded some of the most acclaimed albums in the history of popular music, Van Morrison will not be stuck for song choices.
Back in the UK, Morrison has announced the release of his first album of new material since 2005. Titled “Keep It Simple”, the album will be released on March 17th.
