Vampire Weekend have completed work on their third album, which is due to be released this year.
Vampire Weekend have made no secret of the fact they've been recording new music. The band have dropped a few unreleased tracks into their live set, and even performed a brand new track on an American late night TV show towards the end of last year.
This afternoon, though, the band made things official. Updating their homepage, Vampire Weekend told fans that they had completed work on their third album.
In addition to this, Vampire Weekend also supplied a date. Tweeting to fans, the band said simply "May 7th" which – if indeed it is a release date – points towards a May 6th release here in the UK.
