Ivy League afro-beat merchants Vampire Weekend are set to team up with Canadian funk odd-balls Chromeo on Wednesday (November 12th) as part of the MTVu Woodie Awards.
Both bands are now based in New York and will perform a version of Vampire Weekend’s ‘The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance’ – taken from the group’s much acclaimed debut album. Chromeo are originally form Montreal. and describe themselves as “the only successful Arab/Jewish collaboration since the beginning of time”.
The MTVu Awards are part of the station’s network for university students, and over 5.2 million of them got up of their couch to vote in the Woodies.
Also set to collaborate on the night are hip hop group The Cool Kids and Asher Roth, who will perform The Cool Kids’ ‘The Delivery Man’ and Roth’s ‘I Love College’. Also performing at the star-studded event are Lykke Li, Santogold and many more.
The MTVu Woodie Awards take place in New York on November 12th.
