Australian indie-pop outfits Vacations have shared new album ‘No Place Like Home’ in full.
The band’s excellent 2020 album ‘Forever In Bloom’ caused a ruckus in Australia, and sparked a global cult following. Last year saw Vacations complete a huge tour, including a sold out show at London’s Garage venue, and a support slot alongside The Strokes at All Points East.
New album ‘No Place Like Home’ is out now, a potent work of transformation. Singer and main songwriter Campbell Burns has been dealing with shifts in life, following a diagnosis of Pure OCD (or ‘Pure O’, a subtype of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Lyrically, this feeds into the new album, a record that deals with self-analysis. Alongside this, though, you’ll find moments of indie-pop directness, with Vacations retaining the potent appeal of their earlier work, while adding layers of maturity.
Continually moving forwards, this feels like a major statement from the Newcastle, Australia outfit, building on their DIY roots to lay claim to a global audience.
Tune in now.
