“Dance music is dead.”
“Computers aren’t real instruments.”
Wrong and wrong I’m afraid. And as if to prove these ridiculous fallacies untrue once and for all, Clash has chosen to compile a series of Podcast mixes from a range of artists in the dance and electronic music world. Over the course of a year, 26 exclusive mixes will appear – one every fortnight – on Clashmusic.com. Put together by an assortment of well known names and underground acts, the series will explore the varied face of electronic music in all its weird and wonderful forms.
There are mixes from some of the very best in house, electronica, techno, dubstep, mash-up and pretty much everything else in between that you might care to mention. Through this series, Clash hopes to shed some light on a small part of a giant scene that continues to grow stronger and produce new talent on a daily basis.
Contributing artists to the series include German electrohouse legends Booka Shade, modern-day dub heavyweight Deadbeat, electrofunk supremo Greg Wilson, and house maestro Ralph Lawson.
Also featured are some important and highly impressive up-and-coming acts, representing the direction that dance and electronic music is currently heading in. From the roster of new talent available, Clash have grabbed, among others, multi-talented experimental eclectic Micachu and hotly-tipped Italo-disco duo Heartbreak.
The underground scene has always been crucial to the dance music sphere, and the podcast series will also represent this, featuring a veritable range of alternative talent, including the wonderful dark electro of Boom Bip, some dubstep/techno crossover brilliance from Headhunter and a mix from the ultra-shadowy and highly acclaimed Various Productions.
Truly something for everyone. Fail to investigate it at your peril.
