Underworld Switch It Up On ‘denver luna (acappella)’

An entrancing new track...

Electronic juggernaut Underworld switch lanes on new single ‘denver luna (acappella)’.

Out now, it follows the band’s return in April, sharing their emphatic electronic cut ‘and the colour red’. Rick Smith and Karl Hyde are part of the foundations of UK club culture, yet they’re still engaging with new ideas, and challenging themselves in the process.

New single ‘denver luna (acappella)’ is out now, and it’s a vocal-led affair. Dropping the intense, pulsating rhythms they’ve become known for, it instead focusses on their voices – as the title suggests, it’s just over-laid vocals, but done in such a way that it neatly echoes their club-focussed work.

A surprise switch, ‘denver luna (acappella)’ remains entrancing, a signal that Underworld are still fascinating with stretching the rules until they break.
