UK hip-hop legend Jehst has shared his new album ‘Mork Calling Orson’ in full.
The title is a reference to vintage Robin Williams comedy vehicle Mork & Mindy, and it features 12 all-new tracks. Blending some vintage hip-hop elements with fresh ideas, Jehst seems able to infuse boom-bap production with stellar new sounds.
Out now, ‘Mork Calling Orson’ features recent cuts ‘Daily Planet’ and ‘Lonely World’, alongside the soulful 6Music favourite ‘One Horse Town’. Someone who has been out there in the trenches for years now, Jehst doubles down on his sound, reflecting his staunch independence in the process.
As he puts it: “you hear the voice of God when I rock the mic…”
Keor Meteor and Beat Butcha assist on production, while Jehst takes the album out on the road this month – dates include London’s Jazz Cafe on February 9th.
Tune in now.
