Oldham indie newcomers Twisted Wheel are set to release their grammatically challenged new single ‘We Are Us’ on April 6th.
Twisted Wheel spent much of last year on the road, honing a spectacular live show and sowing the seeds for their current success. Now signed to Columbia, the band are set to gain thousands of new fans this year.
Named after the legendary nightspot where Northern Soul was born, a trace of that music’s distinctive energy has seeped through into Twisted Wheel. Forthcoming single ‘We Are Us’ is an anthem in the making, just a taster of the goods on offer from the group’s debut album.
Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Dave Sardy, Twisted Wheel combine that peculiarly northern swagger with a tender side, all sluiced through a distinctive garage rock sound.
Due to be released on April 13th, the band’s self titled debut album is a whirlwind of energy and could see the group propel themselves into the mainstream.
The band were stunned recently when they were named as tour support with Oasis. One of the year’s biggest tours, Twisted Wheel will join The Enemy and Kasabian on a bill packed with talent.
