Scottish noise-rockers The Twilight Sad have announced the release of a new album ‘Killed My Parents And Hit The Road’, to be released on December 8th.
The band have had a wonderful year, playing a celebrated UK tour and releasing the min-album ‘Here It Never Snowed. Afterwards, It Did’. Combining twisted, distorted guitars and lush harmonies The Twilight Sad have gathered rave reviews, stunning music fans with their incredible live show.
The new album contains live tracks, rarities and thee cover versions. The band have chosen to re-work Joy Division’s ’24 Hours’, The Smith’s ‘Half A Person’ and the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s ‘Modern Romance’.
The title and cover artwork are a reference to the iconic cover of Sonic Youth’s album ‘Goo’. The original cover, now an indie kid t-shirt staple, was based on a line drawing by cult cartoonist Raymond Pettibon – famous for his work with the SST label. The original text read: “I stole my sister’s boyfriend. It was all whirlwind, heat and flash. Within a week we killed my parents and hit the road.”
The Twilight Sad will release their new, limited edition, mini-album ‘Killed My Parents And Hit The Road’ on December 8th.
