Twilight Sad Album Details

Full tracklisting, London show confirmed

Celestial Scots The Twilight Sad are set to return with their new album later this year, and the band have confirmed a rare London show.

The Twilight Sad hail from Cumbernauld, a fairly grim Glasgow overspill. Hardly renowned for its music scene, the town has nonetheless spawned one of the most enticing indie acts to emerge from Scotland in some time.

Blending a ferocious rock crunch with ethereal noise, The Twilight Sad earned rave reviews for their debut EP, which was quickly followed by their sensational debut album ‘Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters’.

Bowling over critics with its blend of inventive soundscapes and singer James Graham’s heartfelt lyrics, the album soared towards the top of the critical charts. Finding cult success in the United States, Twilight Sad toured extensively Stateside.

Rewarding their fans with the rarities and covers mini-album ‘Killed My Parents And Hit The Road’ Twilight Sad seemed to be unable to do wrong. An EP of original material followed, with ‘Here, It Never Snowed. Afterwards It Did’ receiving typically rave reviews.

Since then, however, the trail has gone cold. Retreating to the studio, the band agreed to write an exclusive studio diary for ClashMusic. James Graham revealed…

“There are a few themes with this record, and one main theme binding it together. As with the last record, we aren’t giving much away with the themes because we like the listener to relate the songs back themselves and maybe try and figure it all out on their own.”

“Plus, it’s personal. I would like to keep it close to my chest. Maybe one day I will reveal all, if anyone actually gives a fuck.”

Now finished, Twilight Sad released their track ‘Reflections Of The Television’ as a free download last month. Titled ‘Forget The Night Ahead’ the album has been given an October 5th release date.

Trailed by the single ‘I Became A Prostitute’ on August 3rd, the album is far darker than its predecessor. Yet while James Graham may plumb the lyrical depths the band’s music is more beautiful and inventive than ever.
