Avant-rock outfit TVAM have shared two new singles.
With 2018 came TVAM’s hypnotic debut album, described as an eclectic straddling of many genres and drawing in fans of Boards Of Canada, My Bloody Valentine and Suicide with its irresistible electro-psych. Becoming something of a cult classic, the LP garnered radio plays on 6Music as well as being featured in HBO smash hit Succession, making quite the impact with its cerebral synth rock and ethereally drifting vocals that inspected the unknown influences that permeate our consciousness.
The wait for a return is finally over, with the release of darkly persuasive single ‘Double Lucifer’ and sun-soaked ‘Piz Buin’ giving a sneak peak into a second full-length LP ‘High Art Lite’. TVAM’s Joe Oxley shares his mission to turn the lens inward onto the immediate and personal, cynically deconstructing good and evil with his self-produced experimental sound.
Releasing together with Invada Records, ‘High Art Lite’ is scheduled to hit our eager ears on October 21st, bringing together a somewhat brighter, colourful cocktail of smooth harmonies, crunching noise pop and sun-struck shoegaze rock exploring inevitable disillusionment. “It’s also about how easy it is to feel so far away from our heroes,” Oxley expands. “The weight of our own expectations. The sadness at the core that, as we age, our options narrow, the universe shrinks, and we find ourselves in the shallow end.”
Tune in now.
