The alt rock group are practically the establishment in America now, such is their standing amongst their peers. ‘Dear Science’ has received hyperbole filled reviews, with many critics naming it as their album of 2008. As for Clash, you’ll just have to wait a little longer to see where it charts in our poll.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone the band reveal how strange it is to be suddenly surrounded by fans. When approached in the street, the say “whenever a stranger calls me by name,” Malone says, “I wonder, ‘Did I meet this person when I was drunk?'”.
Despite their new found fame, the band have eschewed rock ‘n’ roll behavior, saying “let’s just say we’re not Mötley Crüe”. TV On The Radio are keen to pay tribute to the fans who crowded their early gigs in sweaty dives across the US. “There are people at these shows who were there in the early days. I want to say to those people, ‘Fuck, I can’t believe what’s happened either.'”
