Tunng are set to return with their new album 'Turbines' on June 17th.
Tunng have always had a communal edge. The band's material – dark hewn folk tapestries with flecks of electronica – relies on the chemistry between each members, allowing their relationships to spiral off into wisps of mythology.
New album 'Turbines' though, is explicitly about community. Focussing on an imaginary town, the band are cast as observers – as Mike Lindsay explains: "It's a fantasy of a place with its own characters where we don't necessarily fit in, where we observe the others and their strange behaviour".
Due for release on June 17th, the album will be preceded by new track 'So Far From Here'. Opening with a sparse, picked pattern the track gallops along with plenty of droning organ for all your wyrd folk needs.
Listen to it now.
