Tune-Yards Announce New Album ‘Better Dreaming’

It's out on May 16th...

Tune-Yards have announced plans for new album ‘Better Dreaming’.

The group – helmed by Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner – have just announced a run of headline shows on the American East Coast, their first since 2022. Taking time out to find fresh focus in a confusing world, incoming album ‘Better Dreaming’ aims to find a place of peace.

Out on May 16th, ‘Better Dreaming’ is available to pre-order now, set to be released on standard vinyl, limited edition vinyl and CD.

New single ‘Limelight’ is laden with light and energy – it even features Merrill Garbus’ three-year-old on backing vocals.

A moment of potency, Merrill Garbus comments…

This one almost didn’t make it onto the album because it felt trite, especially given multiple genocides across the globe and the particular impact on children (the kids are not ‘alright’). But it kept coming back as people kept responding positively to it, in particular our own kid.

Who am I to talk about getting free, about us all getting free? Fannie Lou Hamer said, “Nobody’s free until everybody’s free” and it feels vulnerable but important to see myself as part of that ‘everybody’.
