Tropical Fuck Storm Cancel Shows Following Fiona Kitschin Cancer Diagnosis

"We’ve hit a bump in the road here..."

Melbourne group Tropical Fuck Storm have been forced to cancel upcoming shows after band member Fiona Kitschin was diagnosed with cancer.

The band formed from the ashes of The Drones, with Fiona Kitschin helping to configure the Melbourne outfit. Three wild albums followed, with the latest – ‘Deep States’ – making the Australian Top 10 on its 2021 release.

Set to hit the road in the opening months of 2023, Tropical Fuck Storm have shelved their plans. In a note, the group wrote:

“We’ve hit a bump in the road here at TFS HQ as Fiona has been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. She’s in good spirits considering but it means she’s going to need a lot of treatment. And that means we’re going to have to cancel all the TFS shows we’d planned outside of Australia for 2023 so we can get her all fixed up, shiny and new.”

“Sorry to everyone who bought tix to the upcoming US West Coast shows. You can get refunds at the place you purchased them.”

“We’ll have to play everything else by ear but we’ll try to keep you all informed.”

“Cheers big ears.”

Much love to Fiona, and the rest of the band – find the statement in full below.
