Trinket Shine On ‘New Hobby’ EP

Dive in now...

New York indie pop trio Trinket have shared their ‘New Hobby’ EP in full.

Out now, the record follows a string of excellent singles, each one highlighting the band’s precocious take on the indie pop template. The full four song EP is released on tastemaker imprint Sad Club Records, home to some of our favourite releases of late.

The new EP opens with ‘Figure Skater’ and its my bloody valentine overtones, while ‘Silver Thread’ is more Field Mice, Sarah Records adjacent. The pithy title track has a punk energy to it – think Buzzcocks or Subway Sect – while the dreamy ‘Halo 22’ puts us in mind of those early Mac DeMarco records.

Singer Madison Kate comments…

This is the first release of ours, and the process of having this out in the world has been so emotional and special. I’ll never ever forget it. This is the first time I’ve gotten to work with people to create something from thin air and let myself follow through and share it regardless of the anxieties and fears that come from it.

The process of making this has given the gift of meeting some of the most incredible friends in my bandmates. I don’t know if I could ever fully thank everyone who has helped make this happen enough.

Tune in now.
