Tributes are continuing after the tragic death of Broadcast singer Trish Keenan.
Formed in the mid 90s, Broadcast spun oblique influences in new directions. Mixing primitive electronics with wyrd folk songwriting, the band’s music was at once familiar yet also quite strange.
A difficult group to pin down, Broadcast’s myriad of influences was channelled into the voice of Trish Keenan. A wonderful singer, has effortless emotional appeal provided a tender front to their often bewildering material.
Suffering from pneumonia, Trish Keenan was admitted to hospital in late December. The singer’s condition worsened until news broke on Friday (January 14th) that she had tragically passed away.
