Tribes have decided to split up, issuing a short statement to fans.
Bursting out of Camden, Tribes were a cocksure indie band at a time when the odds were stacked against cocksure indie bands. Featuring former members of Operahouse and blessed with a knack for stating the outrageous, the band swiftly gained a devoted following across the capital.
Debut album 'Baby' arrived in 2012 and – with the weight of Island behind them – it reached the Top 20. Working swiftly, follow up 'Wish To Scream' arrived within 12 months but failed to reach the heights of the band's debut LP.
Now it's all over. In a short statement Tribes confirmed that they are to split up:
We are sad to announce that we will no longer be writing and performing together as Tribes.
Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. We are proud of what we achieved together.
You gave us the best four years of our lives so far.
