Pelicandy's addictive pop confections have turned them into underground heroes.
Digitised melodies wrapped around oh-so-human emotions, each new song seems to take them closer to pop phantasia.
New EP 'Underlove' lands on September 10th, and it finds the two-piece entering fresh realms of excellence.
Perfectly composed and highly atmospheric, the EP broadens their scope while refining their approach.
New song 'Our Life Now' is a bubbling, 80s tinged slice of digital effervescence, capturing a real state of longing.
A song about moving past life's hardships, Pelicandy comment:
"At the risk of being a downer, this is a pretty bleak song about life’s tragedies. I think of a few people close to me with this one and it’s hard not to feel sick with sadness when singing it, but I find value in being reminded how little control we really have in this life, and also the incredible resilience people are capable of."
"I think Chumbawamba said it best when they sang: I get knocked down, but I get up again…."
Tune in now.
Catch Pelicandy at London's Waiting Room on September 18th.
