If you don’t know Fucked Up by now, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? LIVING UNDER A ROCK? IN THE MIDDLE OF A DESERT? FFS, OMG, !!!111oneoneone… et cetera.
Fucked Up employ intelligent design within the confines of the most brutal hardcore; they smash the system by deconstructing it with grey matter over clenched fists. The Canadian six-piece are refuges on the outskirts of the town of the mainstream – they were never meant to be here, but they are, and now they’re looking to run the show. Blood, sweat… tears of laughter.
The rein has begun – it’s not every day a hardcore band fronted by a man-mountain by the name of ‘Pink Eyes’ (or Damian to his mum) makes the cover of NME – and will continue in earnest come October 13 when ‘The Chemistry Of Common Life’ is released. It’s the band’s second album, and their first for Matador. It makes Gallows’ last sound like the work of The Automatic.
