Track Of The Day 5/7 – GoGo Penguin

'Fading : Feigning'

Jazz has always been a performance-based genre.

Sure, jazz musicians helped innovate in the studio, working on fresh techniques in the process, but the improvisatory nature of the sound means that it will always work best live, in concert.

GoGo Penguin straddle both worlds. Keen studio boffins, the collective also love to stretch their wings, to explore fresh ideas in front of a live studio audience.

Which is exactly what they did for Manchester's Low Four. A new project housed in an old television studio, GoGo Penguin recently took part in a lengthy, inspiring session.

Clash is able to premiere a previously unseen segment, with GoGo Penguin blazing through 'Fading : Feigning'.
