Track Of The Day 5/6 – Westerman

'Roads'

There's an oddly mesmerising quality to Westerman's music.

When the composer released those first few tracks online onlookers were enraptured, caught by the strange yet beguiling nature of his work.

Set to release a full three-track EP on Blue Flowers, the songwriter agreed to work alongside close friend Bullion.

The results have a strange, otherworldly quality, recalling Arthur Russell or Nick Drake as they said endlessly into the twilight.

Clash is able to premiere new cut 'Roads', and it's marked by Westerman's high, keening, and highly emotive vocal.

Guitar strings fizzle and crackle, while the backing vocals smear themselves from speaker to speaker in a journey of quiet intensity.

Tune in now.
