“Like a synth-pop Phil Spector,” says Tripwire; “genre-deying electro-pop,” says Paste. “Very good indeed, we likey a lot,” says Clash.
Deastro in Detroit native Randolph Chabot, whose forthcoming album on Ghostly International, ‘Moondagger’, has got blogger tongues wagging. Do bloggers’ tongues wag? Surely their fingers do the ‘talking’? Whatever…
Apparently when asked about the title of his new album, Chabot offers forth some explanation involving a dream about a prince, a kingdom, and an evil king, and only this mythical ‘Moondagger’ can solve the problems of this fantasy world. Okaaay… Round about now we’d usually do a runner, but the man’s music has been such a mainstay on the Clash stereo of late that we’ll overlook his weird World Of Warcraft-like leanings. For now.
‘Vermillion Plaza’ is Chabot’s new single, released July 6; the album ‘Moondagger’ follows a week later. Stream the track above and pay Deastro a MySpace visit by clicking HERE.
