Track Of The Day: 4/11 – Finlay

‘A Million Places’

Yorkshire’s Finlay makes music that feels personal and universal all at once.

His latest track ‘A Million Places’ showcases his soulful, vulnerable vocals alongside warm acoustic guitar, joined later by fluttering strings and building harmonies.

That feeling of warmth and chill in equal measure make it the perfect companion for the cold, dark nights as they draw in, and the track’s visuals are as touching as Finlay’s vocal performance – a close-cut shot of the artist drawing us into his world, seemingly on the brink of tears.

He makes music that may be easy on the first listen but with hidden complexities to uncover if you dig deeper.

As Finlay explains: I wanted to make something that felt relatable on the surface. There’s too many love songs about the process of being in love.

"This was about the hangover of moving on, with that crossover of feeling, where you care even when you’re no longer in love.”
