Skream has worn many masks over the years.
From dubstep prodigy to disco kingpin the producer has worked his way through countless different styles, generally doing what he damn well pleases.
It's something that's come through loud and clear during his Open To Close tour, a series of all-night-long sets in some of the DJ's favourite clubs.
This energy informs his new fabriclive mix, a 75 minute selection that matches a huge breadth of genres to slick mixing and smooth blends.
Skream even finds time to drop two brand new tracks into the mix, a pair of club burners that have already become formidable weapons in his set.
'An Ode To Mr Smith' seems to exist in that nexus between house and techno, with Skream utilising that buoyant, bouncy Chicago beat before overlaying shards of metallic melody.
At times deeply percussive, it's a deep peak-time bomb that bristles with a barely contained energy. We've got first play – tune in below.
'fabriclive 96: Skream' will be released on January 19th.
