Track Of The Day 30/9 – FaltyDL

Skippy 2-Step From New York

New York’s answer to Burial? Maybe yet this is far too easy. Yes FaltyDL’s post-garage beats are here in equally slick style yet there’s more warmth and colour in Drew Lustman’s sweet half step homage.

Working off Ramp and Planet Mu this New Yorker has a bright future rubs should with the styles of dubstep, neo-house and weird new unclassifiable sounds reverberating around the inner city areas of Britain and the US.

His debut ‘Love Is A Liability’ is fresh like a glade plug-in in a room of smokers, Fresh. Post-garage ambience, round, warm melodies and skippy 2-step beats like its 1999 again. This is a nostalgic record but one that has immersed itself in the old New York and Chicago sound and created a more subtle futuristic Big Apple version mashing together influences from hip hop, dubstep, soul and electronica creating his own NYG. This former sushi chef has taken various influences and mixed them up to create his own sound.

His new tune on Ramp is the song we present today called ‘’Alpafun’ and we hope you agree it’s rather progressive in its rhythms.
