Track Of The Day 3/7 – Average Sex

'Ne M’Oublie Pas'

Average Sex are an international prospect.

Essentially based in London, singer Laetitia is French and aspects of her culture and heritage come to the fore in her songwriting.

Natty DIY stylings, Average Sex grab aspects of post-punk and add their own personalities, resulting in something both noisy and pretty damn inspiring.

The Charlatans' Tim Burgess is smitten, and recently took the band out on the road as main support at a host of huge live dates.

The singer even produces their new EP, with 'Melodie' set to be released on August 17th via his own O Genesis Recordings imprint.

We're able to share 'Ne M’Oublie Pas', a rattling indie burner that sluices together some off kilter riffing with quotes from French philosopher, novelist, and goal keeper Albert Camus.

She explains: "'Ne M’Oublie Pas' is yet another love song but our first song using French. The first part of the chorus is a quote from The Outsider by Albert Camus but more references to books can be found throughout the song.”
