Margaret Sohn started on her own, and progressed from there.
The New York-based songwriter started to throw together ideas, little knowing where it would take her.
Using the name Miss Grit she began to gather like minds, people who wanted to work on something a little bit different.
Incoming EP 'Talk Talk' is their boldest step yet, matching astute songwriting to daring sonic flourishes, recalling everyone from Sharon van Etten to LCD Soundsystem in the process.
Out on January 11th, the EP is trailed by new cut 'The Bride' – the title references Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill, and her ruthless pursuit of vengeance.
A jagged, sparse, but eerily infectious nugget, it's shot through with conviction. Margaret Sohn explains:
“This song was created from my adoration of Tarantino’s Kill Bill movies and hatred of romantic comedies and the false image of love they portray to women."
