Every so often LIZ just needs to shed her skin.
Previously named as The First Lady of Mad Decent by Diplo himself, her immersion in club culture has sparked numerous aesthetic shifts.
This summer's ‘Diamond In The Dark’ became instantly iconic, a full collaboration with St. Louis underground pop force Slayyyter.
Set to hit her Los Angeles turf this week, LIZ will play Heaven on August 30th, and she's got a new trick up her sleeve.
Sparkling new single 'BTR 2GTHR' is online now, a potent, flouro-soaked return, one that aligns her alongside pop futurists such as Hannah Diamond or Charli XCX.
That club edge remains, however, while LIZ works alongside Kim Petras, with production from C.Z. and WeDidIt collective member, Groundislava.
Channelling 90s Euro-pop in a hyper-creative manner, it sits somewhere between EDM melodies and half-remembered Saturday trips to the mall.
LIZ comments…
“Kim [Petras] and I were listening to a lot of euro pop together one night including a bunch of German DJ’s she grew up on. We got pumped to write, so we set up a session which basically become a two-day tequila dance party at the studio.”
“The beginning of Scooter’s ‘Nessaja’ was the main inspiration for the vibe of the track, and then we added in a more modern urban section to break the beat up the beat. I’m very proud of our emo-ravey love child, ‘BTR 2GTHR.’”
Tune in now.
