Track Of The Day 28/3 – vaarwell

'Homebound 456'

Lisbon trio vaarwell have a rich sense of sound.

The group pay impeccable attention to the production of each track, with the three-piece entering dream-like realms with unbelievable clarity.

Debut EP 'Love And Forgiveness' offers stunning R&B charms, matching moving, poetic vocals to some crisp, enthralling beats.

The trio's debut album is incoming, with Clash able to share the supple, subtle title cut 'Homebound 456'.

Singer Margarida Falcão explains: "This track was the last one on the album to be written. It talks about having arguments. Getting fired up and then realizing it's just not worth it. Although we were listening to a lot of R&B during the whole album's writing process, this is probably the most R&B-influenced track we have ever written and maybe that's why it's special for us".

There's a sense of resolution in the track, of reaching an impasse and then returning to the start. Imbued with remarkable calm, the aural self-control is entrancing…
