Track Of The Day 28/1 – Aerial Salad

Manchester punk trio Aerial Salad were born out boredom, and a burning desire to see their lives represented in some way.

Starting by playing tiny DIY shows around the city and beyond, Aerial Salad developed a cult following with their rugged songwriting, delivering simple truths in a fun way.

Somehow always managing to not only hit the nail on its head but also shattering the nail itself to pieces, Aerial Salad sculpt huge chunks of punk bedlam.

New album 'Dirt Mall' is out on March 27th – pre-order LINK – and it will be followed by a full UK tour.

One of their most extensive runs yet, it joins the dots between underground punk communities across the country.

Album cut 'Romance?' is a shuddering blast of primal energy, a warped pop song delivered with a caustic vocal packed with attitude.

We're able to share the video in full, shot by their friend Kieron Jordan, from the band Don Blake.

Aerial Salad explain…

"The video comes from us having no idea what to do for a song called ‘Romance?’, aren’t we just fucking incels right, our friend Vez suggested we clean Mike’s (bass) car and it turned out quite Beastie Boys. It was filmed by Kieron Jordan from the band Don Blake and it was freezing. Do you want romance? Do you? Do you? Do you? Do you really? is it wicked? I’m lovin’ it like this."

"The song is about wanting to romance someone who is otherwise romantically engaged, however there is mutual romantic interest (how very sitcom) however it can't quite be… let’s say addressed."

Tune in now.
