Teischa has grown used to utilising her own time.
Growing up in Perth, Western Australia, she spent her teens in one of the world's most remote cities, before darting along the Australian coast, and on into South East Asia.
Finding herself in Los Angeles, she began linking with some of the artists around her, developing this highly personalised network of outcasts.
New single 'hotel room' is out shortly, and it features the sparse, fascinating track 'we try' on the flip.
Literally written beside the pool in Los Angeles, 'hotel pool' was produced by Melbourne’s LUCIANBLOMKAMP, known for his extensive work with Atlanta’s 6LACK.
Later completed in Fremantle, Australia, the hazy track moves between memory and reality, a blurred focus that leaves you wondering what is real and what is invented.
She explains…
"this track was kind of a diary entry to myself about my first impressions of LA. i wrote it after a brutally hot summers day out at the roosevelt hotel in hollywood (which is definitely not my vibe), as i was sitting poolside people watching and creating this little love story in my head about the contrasts of the city. how it can allow you to feel so comfortable and at home in moments, feeling truly yourself, then so out of place, vulnerable and alone the next minute."
"i felt so awkward at this pool i couldn’t even get into my bathers to have a swim in the 40 degree heat. instead i just sat there getting drunk off overpriced cocktails and watching everyone’s fake tans being washed off in the chlorine…"
Casting shadows to illuminate herself, 'hotel pool' is a glamorous mesh of pop contradictions – tune in now.
