The whole concept of ‘electro pop’ is riddled with wholes.
Surely if something comes from the electro-house scene then it can’t, by its very nature, be pop? Bursting out of London, The Count & Sinden prove that you can match credible production to catchy melodies.
Long known for their DJ sets and remixes, The Count & Sinden have been working on their debut album for over a year. Taking care of production, the duo invited a host of guest stars along for something a little different.
Debut album ‘Mega Mega Mega’ is a great example of how pop music can mix with underground dance. Soon to be enormous dubstep vocalist Katy B guests, alongside appearances from Trackademicks, Rye Rye and more.
Recent single ‘After Dark’ is a standout, however. Eel Pie Island’s indie troupe Mystery Jets supply the vocals, adding some almost David Byrne like textures to the track.
A massive airplay hit, it took The Count & Sindon into the charts. With parent album ‘Mega Mega Mega’ out now, ClashMusic has grabbed a remix courtesy of CRST.
Given a radical overhaul, the new version places much more emphasis on electro-house. Never quite losing sight of the track’s pop origins the CRST remix of ‘After Dark’ is yours to download for free.
