Track Of The Day 24/8 – Dananananaykroyd

Fight pop ahoy!

Track Of The Day returns for another week of free-loading goodness with Scottish nut-jobs Dananananaykroyd.

They could have called themselves The Dans but no – for Dananananaykroyd only one moniker would suffice. Well known around the Scottish indie scene for their frenetic live shows the group scored a record deal with Best Before last year which has seen them propelled into the ‘cult phenomenon’ bracket.

Recording their debut album ‘Hey Everyone!’ in New York the band returned for a series of live shows. But then disaster happened – singer John Baillie Jr fell awkwardly in Australia breaking his arm in two places.

Taking time to recuperate, Dananananaykroyd are set to roar back into action with a slot at this weekend’s Reading and Leeds festival. With a live arsenal that contains the Wall Of Hugs and plenty of death-defying stage lunges, Dananananaykroyd are set to be one of the highlights of the event – to put it simply you need this in your life.

New single ‘Some Dresses’ is released this week (review HERE!) but you can get a sneaky taster thanks to ClashMusic. See yonder player? Tis a free stream, so it is. Enjoy!
