As technology becomes ever more accessible, the lines between rock and electronic music have blurred.
Signed to DFA Records, YACHT entered last year with their debut album. A mixture of post-punk and proto-techno the band won acclaim across the duelling worlds of dance and indie rock.
Releasing their new single ‘The Afterlife’ on Monday (April 19th) the band entered the summer with a grimace. Mean and moody, the track was given a number of re-workings by some notable producers.
Amongst them, however, stood The xx. London based indie gurus, the band have begun to make a name for themselves with a series of startling remixes.
Tackling ‘The Afterlife’ The xx have turned it into a swamp of sub-bass, adding some deft dubstep beats to the lingering melody.
