Meeting at school, Dog Is Dead hope to teach us all a lesson.
The Nottingham based group boast influences as diverse as Paul Simon and Cap ‘N’ Jazz, adding a melodic pop touch to their musicianship. Releasing a string of singles, the buzz around the band hugely increased in volume thanks to television coverage at Glastonbury.
The only unsigned band featured across the weekend, Dog Is Dead played a stunning set at Worthy Farm. Blasting through their set, the band caught the attention of broadcasters such as Lauren Laverne and Edith Bowman – both of whom got behind the group.
Now the Nottingham based newcomers are set to break out across the country with ‘Glockenspiel Song’. Out now, the track melts together Afrobeat rhythms and soaring campfire melodies.
However the track isn’t some trad indie effort, with plenty of analogue bleeps and squelching beats to keep the futurists happy. Out now, the single has plastered Dog Is Dead across the nation’s airwaves.
Attracting the attention of other producers, ‘Glockenspiel Song’ has been pushed through the wringer by a number of remixes. ClashMusic has chosen Saulya’s effort – a blistering rework which emphasises Dog Is Dead’s pulsating rhythms.
